I shared the story of how Christina + Jimmy met on their Engagement Session, so if you missed it or just want to see a 1930s biplane – go check it out 🙂 Their Engagement Session was incredible, so I wasn’t sure how we’d top that experience together. But let me tell you, their wedding day fell nothing short of incredible. Being that we spent so much time together on their Engagement, it was wonderful getting to see Christina + Jimmy again. After spending a few hours shooting engagements, I always feel such a deep connection with my clients that come wedding day, it’s like we’re old friends celebrating their wedding!
As my first wedding of the year, I naturally had some jitters. But thankfully, we were given the most beautiful spring day, and Christina + Jimmy’s family and friends were trusting, generous, and so kind that as soon as I picked up my camera and put it up to my eye – I felt right at home. Christina + Jimmy, it has been such a pleasure working with you! Congratulations on your new life together, and I hope our paths cross in the near future. Cheers!

Sarah + Cory’s Engagement Session is one of my favorites to date. They wanted to keep it personal, so we started out front of the condo they bought together, walked along the streets of their neighborhood, and stopped at some of their favorite spots in the West Loop. As we recapped the night before – they were guests at the wedding I shot – we stopped along the way to capture some fun moments of the two. Sarah + Cory, it’s clear how much you both love each other. You live together, work together (on the same team, too), and you still laughed and played the whole session. I loved seeing you two days in a row, and I’m super excited for the wedding day! See you in November!
Chicago has been full of unpredictable weather days. It has been 80 degrees one day, and 50 the next. Luckily, this was one of those perfect days that we happened to have schedule Dani + Jim’s Engagement Session on 🙂 On this beautiful evening, Dani, Jim, and myself explored the gorgeous Morton Arboretum. I’d been there before, but I never had a chance to drive around to all the different spots the Arboretum had to offer – I will definitely be taking a trip back in the fall with all the pretty colored leaves!
We chose the Morton Arboretum for the Engagement Session because Jim had originally planned to propose to Dani here. But, like a lot of proposals go, Dani had other plans for the night and wanted to stay in. The outcome was the same though – and she said YES! We thought the Arboretum would fall in perfectly with their wedding theme at Fishermann’s Inn. They’re going for that rustic, barn wedding feel – so playing around in the trees for their Engagement Session was the perfect fit. Dani + Jim, thank you for such a wonderful evening at the Morton Arboretum! I loved getting to know you both a little better and spend some time together before the wedding! Knowing how much fun we had together and hearing about all the gorgeous details of the wedding – I cannot wait for the big day. Happy wedding planning until then and I will see you in November!
